GOOD LUCK SISSY POO
So in case you didn't know - which I'm sure most of you did - Lauren starts her first day as a middle school teacher (sniff sniff). Good Luck Sis! You're going to do amazingly.
I must be completely honest, I would LOVE to be in Lauren's position right now, I Love Love Love 7th and 8th grade science and she is SOOOOOO lucky to get that job.
Anyhow, Lauren - good luck in your first day as a Viking!
(I hope I got the right picture - there were a couple Pacific Middle Schools :))

5 Great Wsys to Make Thursday Feel Like Friday
1. Take you lunch break as that, a break, and do something you enjoy- I just spent the last hour and a half doing yoga and now back to work (after showering of course)
2. Do something nice for someone. I can't write what I did cause that would give away the surprise but its going to be great!
3. Go outside. While I realize this may not work in the Washington area right now unless you want a little snow - but in Az its a sunny 70 and beautiful.
4. Play a game! While my game is soccer tonight- yours could be 4 way solitaire or racko :)
5. Remind yourself in 27 hours that you're going to be at the weekend!
Happy Thursday!

The Trip That Never Ends
While I'm sitting at the Reagan National Airport (which apparently I should call National, because apparently people here don't like the fact that it's named after Reagan, but I digress) I thought I would write a post before I put all my pictures up - since I thought we were going to be delayed - but I just heard that we will be boarding in a few minutes - so this might not be as elaborate as I was planning.
Real Quick Recap:
- Thursday: Flew to DC, got in at 7, went to dinner, went to drinks at this fun "game" bar which had skee ball, shuffle board, air hockey, pool, etc., went to bed.
- Friday: Walked around Chinatown in the morning, had a TFA Staff lunch (SUPER SUPER SUPER Inspiring - the woman in charge of opening TFA Seattle-Tacoma spoke and was so passionate about her/TFA's work up there), became a tourist and went to the Natural History Museum (I don't think I would have liked this as much if I hadn't had become a science nerd the last two years - get ready Lauren)
- Saturday: Had the most inspiring sessions ever at the TFA 2oth Anniversary Summit, saw Malcolm Gladwell and Gloria Steinum in a session about the "tipping point" to movements or revolutions, went to a session on "getting things done in politically complicated environments" (Seattle Anyone???), and then we had a closing session - during that closing session, we had an awesome message from President Obama and an impromptu concert from John Legend (both videos I will upload when I get home), that night - went to a reception and met (and got a picture with) Wendy Kopp.
- Sunday: I went to another workshop about "Bringing the "JOY FACTOR" into your classroom" which was AMAZING, then we went to the Newseum which was absolutely incredible, and then met some TFA peeps for dinner.
- Monday: Another Tourist Day filled with the national air and space museum and the American History Museum (both incredible) and a night topped off with dinner with a friend from Whitman, Maggie Carr.
- Tuesday: Went to see Afram Jewelry and talked to Sam for quite a while (so cool), went to see the White House and then went to the Portrait Gallery.
Okay, got to run - plane is boarding!!!
Pics and Videos to come!
